  1. Getting to La Grave

  2. La Grave is a remote mountain village situated in the heart of the Rhone Alpes.  For both La Grave Camps, you will need to arrive in La Grave on Saturday.  It is best to arrive earlier in the day, so that you have time to relax a bit after the travel and prepare for the big ski week.  If you are flying from North America, you will need to leave on Friday in order to arrive on Saturday.  The best way to get to La Grave is to fly into the Lyon airport, take a bus to Grenoble, and then get the taxi shuttle to La Grave.  Here is some information about travel as well as some other options for getting to La Grave.

  3. 1.  Fly into the Lyon-Saint Exupery Airport (LYS). From there, you can either take the bus or the train to Grenoble, which is about 90 km away.  You can usually purchase bus or train tickets at the airport, but you will want to check the schedule before you go.

  5. •To find the train schedule to Grenoble, go to www.voyages-sncf.com and search for a train from the Lyon airport to the Grenoble Gare on the date you arrive.

  6. 2.  A second option is to fly into the Geneva, Switzerland Airport (GVA).  From there, you can take a bus to Grenoble.  The schedule can be found at www.vfd.fr/horaires/aerocar

  7. 3.  You can also fly into the Grenoble Airport and take the taxi shuttle to La Grave from there. The taxi information is at www.taxidelameije.com


  9. •   From Grenoble Gare (the main train/bus station in town) it takes between 1 - 1.5 hours to drive to La Grave depending on the road conditions.  To get from Grenoble to La Grave, you can either take a bus or a taxi. 

  10. •The taxi is the easiest option.  They run scheduled transfers from Grenoble Gare to La Grave at 11h15, 18h45, and 23h15 every Saturday.  The return trips are schedule at 05h30, 13h30, and 17h00 departing La Grave for Grenoble every Saturday.  You can book the transfer at www.taxidelameije.com.  You need to book this transfer ahead of time if you plan to use it.

  11. •The bus runs once a day leaving Grenoble at 17h45 and arriving in La Grave at 19h15 or leaving La Grave at 08h10 and arriving in Grenoble at 09h40.  The bus schedule can be found at www.vfd.fr/horaires/ler-35.  You can purchase bus tickets at the Grenoble Gare.
