La Grave Steep Camp

Camp Itinerary/ What to Expect

The camp itinerary is to stay as flexible as possible so that we will always be skiing where the skiing is best.  There is not “typical” day for the Steep Camps.  Each day is different; each day is a new adventure.

In La Grave, the cable car opens at 9 am and we will try to catch the first lift.  Ski days can be long in La Grave.  The last ride up from the middle station is at 4 pm, so if you are going for another 6000 ft vertical off –piste descent, you are in for a long ski day.  You always have the option to save your legs for the next day, but if you want more there is always more.

From La Grave we are able to ski any of the 6 other ski stations close by if the conditions are better there on a certain day.  On days when we are going on a road trip, we will usually leave the hotel earlier so that we get a good start on the day.

The La Grave camp starts on Saturday with a welcome drink at 6:30 pm at the Hotel La Chaumine.  We then have our first of many dinners together at the hotel.

We will do an equipment check Sunday morning and we head up on the mountain to begin our week of adventure.

After 6 days of phenomenal skiing and mind-blowing descents we cap off the week with a celebration dinner on Friday evening.  Awards are given and stories told!

Departure is after breakfast on Saturday.
