Chamonix Steep Camp

  1. Camp Itinerary/ What to Expect

  2. The camp itinerary is to stay as flexible as possible so that we are always skiing where the skiing is best.  There is not “typical” day for the Steep Camps.  Each day is different; each day is a new adventure.

  3. Our start time in the morning depends on where we are skiing for the day.  Our earliest start in Chamonix would be for catching the first lift of the Aiguille du Midi, which is at 8 am.  Other lift stations in the valley open between 8:30 and 9 am depending on conditions.  For the days where we are skiing out of the valley we will take an early breakfast to get a good start on the day.  As mentioned in the camp introduction, there are many other ski options close by in Italy and Switzerland.

  4. Endless options and long lift hours allow for full ski days.  You will have the option to save your legs for the next day but if you want more, there is always more skiing to be had.

  5. Both camps begin with a welcome drink at 6:30 pm on the first night.  The first camp starts on Sunday and the second camp starts on Saturday.  After the aperitif (welcome drink),  we will share the first of many dinners together.  You will learn about the current conditions and our tentative plan for the week.

  6. We will do an equipment check Sunday morning and then head up on the mountain to begin our week of adventure.

  7. After 6 days of phenomenal skiing and mind-blowing descents we cap off the week with a celebration dinner (Saturday evening for camp 1 and Friday evening for camp 2). Awards are given and stories told!

  8. Departure is after breakfast on the following day (Sunday camp 1 and Saturday camp 2).
